Over the last century, clay artists in Japan have engaged with the distinctive styles of ancient kilns to bring forward celebrated traditions, often with surprising results. Four such ancient kiln styles are highlighted in our summer exhibition, ANCIENT KILNS OF JAPAN: CERAMICS FROM BIZEN, IGA, TAMBA, AND SHIGARAKI.
